2. What data we collect

When registering

• First and last name
• Email address
• Password (saved encrypted)
• Optional information: address, telephone number, date of birth

When using the service

• IP address and browser information (server logs)
• Date and time of the requests
• Status of deletion requests

When making payment

Payment data is processed exclusively by our payment service provider Stripe. We do not store credit card details.

3. Purpose of processing

We process your data exclusively for the following purposes:

• Provision and management of your DataPurge account
• Making data deletion requests to data brokers on your behalf
• Processing payments and subscription management
• Communication via email (transaction emails, status reports)
• Fulfillment of legal obligations

4. Legal basis

Your data is processed on the basis of the following legal bases of the GDPR:

• Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b GDPR – Contract fulfillment (subscription service)
• Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a GDPR – Consent (e.g. authorization for deletion requests)
• Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter c GDPR – Legal obligation (accounting, tax law)
• Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f GDPR – Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention)

5. Data transfer

We only pass on your data to the extent that this is necessary to provide our service:

• Data Dealer: Name and email will be used for deletion requests (based on your authorization)
• Stripe: Payment processing (Privacy policy: stripe.com/de/privacy)
• Server provider: Hosting in the EU

It will be passed on to third parties for advertising purposes not instead. We do not sell user data.

6. Storage duration

We only store your data for as long as it is necessary for the stated purposes:

• Account details: Until your account is deleted + 30 days transition period
• Payment details: 10 years in accordance with tax retention requirements
• Server logs: 7 days

You have the following rights according to the GDPR:

• Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) – Correction of incorrect data

8. Cookies

We only use technically necessary cookies (session cookie for login). Analysis or tracking cookies are only set with your express consent. You can deactivate cookies at any time in your browser settings.

9. Payment processing (Stripe)

We use Stripe, Inc. (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland) to process payments. Stripe is certified according to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Credit card data is processed exclusively on Stripe's servers - we have no access to it.
